“I have always worked hard to achieve the very best I can – I qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant by the age of 22, achieved a directorship in the corporate world of recruitment before the age of 30, and set-up Waddington Brown in 2007.
My real passion has always been working with people and in making a vital contribution towards the future success of both clients’ businesses and candidates’ careers; the two go hand-in-hand. My judgement, intuition and recruitment knowledge have never let me down and my reward is the excellent business relationships that I have established with many of the most respected companies and HR professionals in the Eastern counties.”
“I may not have a local accent, but I certainly know the local market! I’ve been working in recruitment in East Anglia since 1999 having relocated from Australia where I worked in executive search and retail management.
Joining Waddington Brown in 2008, I have built strong connections right across the region, supporting both clients and candidates to achieve their objectives. Every day is different and varied and that’s what I really enjoy. I get a buzz from working with a diverse range of businesses and organisations, utilising my knowledge and experience to help them resolve their HR recruitment needs. I delight in building long term relationships, helping people develop and progress their careers and witnessing them achieve or realise their full potential.”
I started in recruitment back in 1989 and after so many years in recruitment I never thought I would find, let alone join, an organisation that truly has the best interests of its clients as the key to its own success. To this day, I still get a real thrill working consultatively alongside clients to identify business critical people who will make their mark influencing and developing their businesses for the future.
I pride myself on my ability to develop business and I enjoy marketing our services to both established and new clients; it’s really motivating working closely with clients identifying potential needs and supporting executives in shaping their businesses, not only by utilising our services and connections to develop existing team members, but by working in partnership with us to reach experienced professionals.”
“I made a career change from banking because of a fascination with the HR function and a realisation that people, not spreadsheets are much more ‘me’ – it’s a cliché but an organisation’s success really is dependent on the calibre of its people. It follows therefore that the importance of finding the best HR team is paramount. This is what fascinates me, matching the right HR people to the right company, at the right time, whilst offering each HR professional career satisfaction and progression.
As an MCIPD-qualified HR recruiter for over a decade, I’ve supported clients and candidates from blue-chip multinationals and public sector organisations to smaller, not-for-profit outfits and niche players in many industry sectors. I know that recruitment is not always straightforward at times – it is an art, not a science! So this is where my knowledge and intuition come to the fore, to help clients to meet their recruitment requirements and to help candidates enjoy a fulfilling career”
“Like many HR professionals, I didn’t plan a career in HR (I always wanted to run a top class hotel!) Then my career moved in another direction and, now I’m here, I love it. I completed my CIPD qualification after a couple of years working in Financial Services HR and have since upgraded to MCIPD. I spent over 12 years working in various in-house recruitment positions for companies such as Littlewoods Shop Direct and Alexander Mann Solutions before deciding to relocate to East Anglia.
On moving to Cambridgeshire I was really lucky to find Waddington Brown. Here I could apply my in-house recruitment knowledge to a new environment. I love the fact that this role is centred on building relationships with both candidates and clients and really understanding what makes them both tick. I have been able to bring my interest in psychological profiling to this role and am Waddington Brown’s qualified OPQ assessor.”
“I joined Waddington Brown back in September 2014 to provide administration and frontline support for the team of HR Consultants and as the business continues to expand, my role has evolved into communications which incorporates research; database management; marketing and event coordination; social media; promotion of a variety of campaigns across the region and publicising Waddington Brown’s fast expanding additional services. I am usually the person answering inbound calls too, so even if you haven’t met me yet, chances are you’ve spoken to me!
Every day is different, which gives me fantastic variety within my role – we’ve got a brilliant network across the East, and it’s clear that we make a real difference to both clients and candidates; I really enjoy being part of the growing team.”
“Since joining the team in 2009, it’s been great to see the business evolving and the Waddington Brown brand going from strength to strength – I’ve witnessed growth within the business year-on-year, we’ve branched into new regions and the sole agency approach with clients has been widely embraced. I continue to enjoy supporting the team with whatever is needed to make the business a success – I oversee the implementation of new systems and processes, manage the accounts function and handle all administrative requirements to ensure everything continues to run as smoothly as possible.”
This year, we are celebrating our tenth anniversary. We would like to thank all clients, candidates, partners and suppliers across the region for all your support during the last 10 years. Here’s to the next decade!
